Life Support Courses

Healthcare provider employees that enrol in CPR training in the U.S.A. have the option of registering for several different CPR training courses. These courses are provided through the American Heart Association and take approximately 1 to 2 days to complete depending on the level of life support training required. The three major courses offered are basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS). Basic Life Support (BLS)

Learn basic life support techniques by enrolling in these American Heart Association Courses

This course is the most basic and straightforward course offered for healthcare providers. It takes approximately 4 hours to complete and teaches the latest CPR and AED usage standards provided through the American Heart Association and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). This course is required for a wide range of individuals that work in and out of hospital settings. Participants in this course will learn 1 and 2 person CPR rescue techniques for adults, infant and children.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

This advanced life support and CPR course for healthcare providers that work in the frontline’s, management or team lead positions in workplaces that involve emergency response and critical and lifesaving care. This is a two day course that is provided through the American Heart Association. Certification that is provided through this course is valid for 2 years. Participants will learn hands on rescue techniques and how to effectively work in a team in a healthcare environment.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

This two day advanced course is designed for health care providers that work in critical care, emergency management and in any lifesaving roll involving pediatric patients. This is a two day course that provides successful participants with a certificate that is valid for 2 years. A large component of this course is working on skills and techniques in a hands on environment.
